Application of Runjing ceramic hard sealing ball valve in defluorination system

Taonan, is located in a remote area in the northwest of Jilin Province in China, with a population of more than 10,000. There is no tap water supply, and the problem of drinking water can only be solved by self-built small centralized water plants.


However, there is shortage of surface water, and the fluorine content in ground water exceeds 4mg/L, which seriously exceeds the standard of drinking water that fluorine content of drinking water should not be more than 1mg/L stipulated in GB5749-2006 "Standards for Drinking Water Quality".


Tips: Excessive fluorine content in drinking water will damage human teeth and bones. Long-term drinking the water with fluorine content as high as 1~1.5mg/L is prone to dental fluorosis; if the fluorine content is higher than 4mg/L, it will cause skeletal fluorosis and damage to the kidney. If daily drinking water contains excessive fluorine content, and it is needed to be removed.


The water treatment capacity required for this system is 82m³~100m³ each day, According to the daily water supply for 2.5 hours, the water flow rate should be 32.8m3 /h~40m3 /h.


In this project, JM-1 fluorine removal filter material is used to remove fluorine. It is equipped with a FRP tank with a diameter of 1.8m and a height of 2.85m. The tank is filled with JM-1 filter material with a height of 2m. Several DN50 Runjing manual ball valves are used to form a fluorine removal system. The water treatment capacity of each set is 10m3 /h, and four sets system work in parallel to achieve 40m3 /h water supply demand.


Since the groundwater contains sediment, it is necessary to remove the sediment before defluorination; then adjust the PH value of the raw water to 6.5, and then the fluorine is removed by the JM-1 filter material, and the water flow is operated from top to bottom. The water with most or all fluorine removed enters the purified water tank and is delivered to the user through pumps and pipes. When the fluorine content in the outlet water exceeds 1.0mg/L, it indicates that the filter material is invalid, and special regenerant needs to be used for regeneration to recover the adsorption effect of the filter material.


The working process of the system operation is: groundwater with fluorine → Variable-speed pump → Desander → PH value adjustment device → Defluorination equipment (regeneration device)→Purified water tank→Pump→User

The fluorine content of the initial outlet water of the system is less than 0.25mg/L, which is lower than the fluorine content of drinking water stipulated in GB5749-2006 " Standards for Drinking Water Quality", which shall not exceed 1.0mg/L. Since it was put into use, it has been running stably and the water output is qualified.
